 The elements of art are the ingredients to creating a great art piece. Click on one of the seven elements below to learn more. Shape ColorColor ColorColor Form Space Texture Value

 A line is a path of a moving dot.  Lines can be straight, curvy, or implied. Let’s test your knowledge!

 A shape is an area defined by edges.  Shapes can be geometric like triangles or squares or organic like seashells and trees. Click the arrow to learn more about shapes.

 Form is a 3-Dimensional object having volume and thickness. Such as sculptures or pottery.

 Space in art refers to the illusion of 3- Dimensional space on a 2-Dimensional plane. Test your knowledge here.

 Value is the degree of light and dark in a design.  Value can be used with color as well as black and white.

 Texture refers to surface quality, it can be real or implied by different uses of media. Watch the video to learn more.

 Color refers to specific hues which are organized on the color wheel, which shows the chromatic scale in a circle using all the colors made with the primary colors. Primary Colors: Red, Blue & Yellow (They make up all other colors on the color wheel) Secondary Colors: Orange, Green & Violet (Created by mixing two primary colors) Test your color mixing knowledge.
