Cold Hard Facts  Euthanasia is legal in the Netherlands with or without the consent of the patient.  Up to 20,000 people die every year for Euthanasia  95% of cancer pain is controllable and the remaining 5% can be reduced to a tolerable level.

Catholic Stance on Euthanasia Catholicism regards life as sacred, and taking any innocent life is immoral and sinful. Catholic Church uses same principles to condemn euthanasia.

What Does The Bible Say? “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.” Genesis 9:6 What This Means This Bible passage means that the human person is made in the image of God; therefore, it such not be murdered by another human being. This follows Catholic Social Teaching because it follows the theme of care of God’s Creation.

Catechism  2276 Those whose lives are diminished or weakened deserve special respect. Sick or handicapped persons should be helped to lead lives as normal as possible.  2277 Whatever its motives and means, direct euthanasia consists in putting an end to the lives of handicapped, sick, or dying persons. It is morally unacceptable.

What does this mean?  This passages say that the human person should be kept alive for as long as she or he can.  It goes on to say that Euthanasia is the same as kill a perfectly health human being so it such be treated as the same.

Magisterial Document SACRED CONGREGATION FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH DECLARATION ON EUTHANASIA Human life is the basis of all goods, and is the necessary source and condition of every human activity and of all society. Most people regard life as something sacred and hold that no one may dispose of it at will, but believers see in life something greater, namely, a gift of God's love, which they are called upon to preserve and make fruitful This goes alone with the Bible saying that all human life is a gift of God, and made in Gods image. So weather the human is perfectly healthy or on their death bed, the human life should be left to live as long as he or she can.
