9.11 the history of the twin towers The World Trade Centre was a complex of seven buildings. It featured landmark twin towers, which opened on April 4, 1973.The world trade centre did lots of things, they were state offices, they were the Port Authority of NY and many financial businesses.

The hijackings On the 11 of September terrorists hijacked 2 Planes with around 90 passengers on board. These are the time lines 8:38 a...m... Boston air traffic centre notifies NORAD that American Airlines flight 11 has been hijacked... 8:43 a...m... FAA notifies NORAD that United Airlines flight 175 has been hijacked... 8:44 a...m... Otis Air National Guard Base in Mass... orders to fighters scrambled...

Dooms day! At 8:48 a...m... The first plane with 92passengers still on board slammed in to the north tower and killed all of the passengers! And then approximately 18 minutes later another plane with 65 people on it slammed in to the south tower and also killed all the people on it. But that wasn’t all the deaths, there were about 2600 people in the towers that were killed. The death total of nine eleven was a massive 2996! ( including the nineteen terrorists). at 9:59 the south tower collapsed.29 minutes later the north tower collapsed. click on the link to see a video of the disaster

Who did this! No one knows the names of the bombers but we do know that they were part of a terrorist group called Al-Qaida lead by Osama bin laden. Even before 9.11 he was in the top ten most wanted list, now that isn't something to be proud of. Osama Bin Laden was killed in a helicopter raid on a mansion in an area north of the Pakistani capital.
