Mauna Loa By Gene and Marie

Important facts Mauna Loa is an 80,000km dormant volcano located in the U.S. state, Hawii. Its last eruption was in 1984. In 1926, it destroyed 1950 villages. Mauna Loa has been inactive for 25 years. It has been erupting for 700, 000 years and emerged from the sea 400,000 years. In shocking news due to scientists calculations it will be extinct in 1 million years.

Where is Mt Fuji Mt Fuji is 60 miles to the east near the pacific ocean on the island of Honshu. It is the biggest volcano in Japan! Its in the Ring of Fire! This is Mt Fuji and it is in the Ring of Fire!!

More about Mt Fuji!!!! Mt Fuji last erupted in 1707, it caused 2.5 trillion people to economic damage. Its 3,776 meters tall and 12,388 feet tall!!! Mt Fuji's crater is 500 meters long and 250 meters deep! More than 200,000 people visit Mt Fuji every year! It is a dormant volcano. It erupted 63 times!

How many times has it erupted? Interesting facts Is Mt Kilauea active? Yes it has been active a lot of times. How many times has it erupted? It has erupted 61 times almost every year. Is it a shield volcano? No it is not a shield volcano. How many people died in the 2011 eruption? 81 people died in the 2011 eruption.

Do you know Kilauea is the youngest and most active Hawaiian shield volcano located on the southern part of the Island of Hawaii known as Big Island. Hawaii is the southernmost and largest of the island chain which owes its existence to the very active Hawaiian hot spot. Kilauea volcano is near constantly erupting from vents either on its summit caldera or on the rift zones. At present, Kilauea volcano is still having one of the most long lived eruptions known on earth, which started in 1983 on the eastern rift zone and has mainly been concentrated at the Pu'u 'O'o vent.
