Number of dogs and cats that were euthanized at Animal Care Services More than 32,000 in Fiscal Year 2007 more than 26,000 in Fiscal year 2008 more than 15,000 in Fiscal Year 2009 Add on an average of 30,000 – 35,000 animals that died on our City streets during the same time periods. That’s an average of over 55,000 animals that have died in San Antonio over the past three years. Estimated 153,000 strays on our city streets

Dog bites are by intact males and females 10,000 humans born each day, 70,000 kittens and puppies are born each day Very hard to find homes for kittens and puppies Impact on community—financial and health

Female dogs and cats need to go through at least 1 heat Females must have 1 litter Males will become feminized Your pet will become fat Inside animals do not need to be spayed and neutered “One dog or cat doesn’t make a difference”
