Who is she? Mother Teresa was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje, Macedonia, on August 26, 1910. Her family was of Albanian descent. At the age of twelve, she felt strongly the call of God. She knew she had to be a missionary to spread the love of Christ.

What makes her a role model Mother Teresa is a good role model to teen girls and others because of how she proved the capability of change from just one person. She devoted her life to promoting peace, and making the world a better place, which is inspirational just at that. Mother Teresa did many things that everyone can look up to and aspire to be like.

What did Teresa do? was a catholic nun of Albanian ethnicity and Indian citizenship, who founded the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India in 1950. For over 45 years she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying, while guiding the Missionaries of Charity's expansion, first throughout India and then in other countries. Following her death she was beatified by Pop John Paul II and given the title Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.

Why is she special? Mother Teresa was such a special person to the society because she was always loving and caring for the people, she always put others before herself and helped the society the best she possibly could have.

Why is she still remembered to day? Mother Teresa is being remembered across India and around the world. The Roman Catholic nun died a year ago today. She dedicated her life's work taking care of the destitute in the slums of Calcutta. A simple service was held where Mother Teresa spent most of her life helping the poorest of the poor. Most in attendance were nuns from the Missionaries of Charity, the order she founded. Their sorrow was evident.
