Employed Educator Report (EER) Report Form & Instructions

Three Reporting Tabs on the EER Teachers, Administrators and Service Providers Instructional Paraprofessionals Teacher Salary Data Each LEA has received a copy of last year’s EER on the new reporting template. –P–Please ensure that you remove educators who are no longer employed with the LEA, being mindful to delete multiple entries for that educator, where applicable. –R–Remember to update all required fields in instances where teaching assignments or positions have changed (curriculum code, grade code, highly qualified indicators, etc.). 2

Teachers, Administrators and Service Providers/School Support Personnel Three reporting sections: – Personal & Demographic Data (yellow section) – Reported Assignment (blue section) Report Elementary level (PK-6) educators once Report Secondary level core subject teachers for each class taught Report non-core subject secondary level and both elementary and secondary administrators and service providers once unless the educator works at more than one campus, and should be listed for each campus served (excluding Executive Directors/Chancellor) Core subjects: Elementary Education (K-6); Mathematics; English/Reading/Language Arts; Science (including Biology, Chemistry and Physics); Social Studies; Foreign Language; and the Arts (Art, Music, Drama) Include employed and contracted staff for service providers and paraprofessionals. 3

Teachers, Administrators and Service Providers/School Support Personnel Educational Credentials (green section) Based on documentation reviews conducted during several LEA on-site monitoring visits, please do not indicate that a teacher has the Praxis test, undergrad major, grad major, etc. if there is no documentation on file at the LEA to support the assertion. Acceptable documentation includes transcripts, foreign degree/coursework evaluations from approved agencies, Praxis score reports, and workshop certificates and other documentation used to verify completion of HOUSSE requirements. Résumés are not acceptable for documenting any of the items in the Educational Credentials section. 4

Instructional Paraprofessionals Very similar to the Teachers, Admin. and Service Providers worksheet with three reporting sections: – Yellow: personal and demographic data – Blue: assignment data – Green: educational credentials Include employed and contracted paraprofessionals. Please do not delete or leave this worksheet blank if your LEA does not have any instructional paraprofessionals. Instead, input on the spreadsheet “The LEA does not employ or contract instructional paraprofessionals.” 5

Teacher Salary Data To meet local reporting requirements, LEAs must submit the following information: –M–Minimum Teacher Salary (per the LEA’s salary schedule) –M–Maximum Teacher Salary (per the LEA’s salary schedule) –A–Average Teacher Salary (actual average based on current year salaries) Salary data must be based on gross, base salaries for full-time teachers and not include bonuses, stipends or fringe benefits. 6

NEW to the EER OSSE has increased each employees’ experience data by one year on the EER form your LEA will receive (excluding new LEAs). The Evaluation Practices worksheet has been removed from the EER since most LEAs do not have year-end evaluation results by the time the EER is due. The Evaluation Practices data request will therefore be sent to LEAs in July 2012 with an August 2012 due date. The FTE status request has been removed from the paraprofessional’s worksheet since this data was collected from LEAs in May Grade Code 13 (PreK – Kindergarten) has been deleted from the EER’s Grade Code table, as well as on LEA EER Templates. Please insert new appropriate grade code(s) in the highlighted cells for affected individuals. For highly qualified purposes, OSSE has provided information on the acceptance of Praxis exams that have been dropped, discontinued, or had a score increase. This information can be found in the EER Assignment Table document (Appendix B). 7

LEA Validation Processes Please utilize the steps outlined in pages 9-10 of the EER Instructions Handbook to check the accuracy of data submitted. Validating data prior to submitting it to OSSE reduces your overall reporting burden by cutting down on the back and forth to fix errors. 8

OSSE Validation Processes OSSE will check that LEA submissions are complete and accurate. – OSSE will insert SPED HQ and HQ columns on the Teachers, Admin and SPs and paraprofessionals’ worksheets to indicate one’s highly qualified status. – OSSE will send the EER to the LEA with any questions, otherwise it will be deemed final. LEA responses to EER questions must be sent within three (3) business days. 9
