AYURVEDIC COOKING COURSE Health Through Food ‘Ayu’ is life and ‘Veda’ means knowledge.“ Knowledge of Life” is Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the most enduring time tested healing modality available in the world today. It is a system that helps maintain health by using the inherent principles of nature thereby, bringing the individual back to one’s true self. The whole universe is made up of five elements, each one of them, contains the other four and they flow into one another. Ayurveda has three main focuses: Healing, Prevention and Health Care. This medical science is a method of personalizing food for individuals healing process. Ayurvedic Style cooking is a rational way to prepare food keeping in mind the dietary need of an individual based on different body types. Most of the health problems are caused due to intake of improper diet. Also, Ayurveda categorizes food into three category: Sattvik, Rajasic and Tamasic. These types of food have different effects on body and mind.
