RADICAL GOD The Anchor of our Faith

Paul is telling about the Most Important Things! 1 Cor 15:1-8 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,

2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 & that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 & last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

1. Jesus Christ Died for our sins V.3b “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures” For What Reasons? Jesus died as a substitute for our sin. He paid our penalty of death. Substitute – Ransom 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. 1 Tim 2:5-6

2. Jesus Christ was buried. v.4a “ 4 that he was buried” Revelation 1:18: “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” Jesus conquered the work of the Devil!

3. Jesus Christ rose from the dead v,.4 he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. We have been given the power to live out heaven right here on earth!

Jesus Christ appeared V. 5 he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 & last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born. We are living in the place of VICTORY MORE THAN CONQUEROR

When Jesus rose again, He defeated 2 enemies: Death Sin Roman 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. “ He gave us 2 gifts: Overcoming Life Everlasting Life John 16:33 “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

When Jesus rose again He gave us 2 realities: A new Identity A new Destiny 12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. John 1: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Cor 5:17

He gave us 2 resurrections: Now: a spiritual resurrection End Time: a physical resurrection 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him….and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thes 4:14-17
