WHAT DID THE DEATH & RESURRECTION OF CHRIST MEAN?

FOR THE FATHER HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON AS A PROOF OF HIS LOVE FOR HUMANITY 7 TO GIVE THEM ETERNAL LIFE. JOHN 3:16

FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT A PASSPORT TO MOVE TO THIS EARTH AND TO BE THE GUIDE & COUNSELOR OF THE CHURCH. JOHN 16:5-7 JESUS HAD TO GO BACK TO HEAVEN FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT TO BE GIVEN TO US

FOR CHRIST PHIL. 2:5-11 DESCRIBES CHRIST’S HEART: HIS DEATH WAS HIS SUFFERING FOR OUR SALVATION HIS RESURRECTION WAS THE KEY TO THE KINGDOM. THE COMPLETION OF A MISSION: IT’S DONE!

WHAT DO THEY MEAN FOR HUMANITY The Death of Christ rescued us from the penalty and power of sin. Those who believe in Christ and receive His forgiven are saved from the eternal condemnation for their sins. The Resurrection of Christ brought new life for those who believe. The promise and hope to live eternally with God.

AN UNSTOPPABLE SERIES OF EVENTS The Death & Resurrection of Christ launched a series of events that cannot be stopped. It is like a chain of events under God’s Sovereign administration. They will culminate with His return to this earth to establish His Kingdom over all nation.

THE ORDER OF EVENTS THE APOSTLE PAUL & JOHN DESCRIBED THE ORDER OF EVENTS: 1 Co. 15 1 Thes. 4: 13-18 Rev. 20

THE RESURRECTION GOSPEL 1 CORINTHIANS 15 15 3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

20But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in his own turn: Christ, the first fruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

THE SEQUENCE IN 1 COR. 15 I THE SEQUENCE IN 1 COR. 15 I n Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: Christ, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. Then, when He comes, those who belong to him: – The trumpet will sound – The dead (asleep) will be raised imperishable – Then we (the living) will be changed (The Rapture)

THE SEQUENCE IN 1 THES. 4 I THE SEQUENCE IN 1 THES. 4 I n Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: 13Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

THE SEQUENCE IN 1 THES. 4 I THE SEQUENCE IN 1 THES. 4 I n Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these words.”

THE SEQUENCE IN 1 THES. 4 I THE SEQUENCE IN 1 THES. 4 I n Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: 1. God’s loud command 2. The voice of the archangel will be heard 3. The sound of God’s Trumpet 4. Jesus will come down from heaven 5. The dead in Christ will rise (the first resurrection) Rev. 20:4-6; 1 Co. 15:52 6. The living ones in Christ will be caught up together in the clouds (1 Co. 15:52) 7. All will meet the Lord in the air

THE SEQUENCE IN REVELATION 20 I THE SEQUENCE IN REVELATION 20 I n Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: 4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

THE SEQUENCE IN REVELATION 20 I THE SEQUENCE IN REVELATION 20 I n Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

SUMMARY OF THE ORDER OF EVENTS LAUNCHED BY CHRIST’S RESURRECTION Christ’s Resurrection (The 1 st Fruits) The Believers’ Resurrection (1rst R) The Rapture (for the living) Christ’s Return to the earth The KOC: The Millennium The Unbelievers’ Resurrection (2 nd R) The Final Judgment The Eternal KOG

RESURRECTION IS NOT Only a Christian Doctrine or a Christian thing. It is not a matter of believing or not believing. Does anyone need to believe in death?

RESURRECTION RESURRECTION is part of the natural life of any human being as BIRTH and DEATH are. RESURRECTION will happen to every human being born into this world. RESURRECTION has a lot more to do with you than you think: You are destined to raise again after you die.

A SOVEREIGN FACT HEBREWS 9: 26-27 “Christ has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself, and inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.”

THE CYCLE OF EVENTS 1 st : BIRTH: Every human being on this earth had to experience birth. 2 nd : DEATH: Every human being will have to experience death (exception for those who will experience the rapture) 3 rd : RESURRECTION: Every human being will have to experience resurrection. Death is not the last thing.

THE RESURRECTIONS  The believers will participate on the FIRST Resurrection and will reign with Christ during His Millennial Kingdom on this earth and after that they will enter Eternity with God.  The unbelievers will participate of the SECOND Resurrection and will be judged for eternal condemnation: the 2 nd death.

THE CYCLE OF EVENTS BIRTH DEATH RESURRECTION THESE MAJOR EVENTS BELONG TO THE REALM OF GOD’S SOVEREINGTY. NO HUMAN BEING CAN CONTROL ANY OF THEM.

THE SOVEREIGN CYCLE OF EVENTS NO ONE KNOWS WHEN TO BE BORN, TO DIE, AND TO BE RAISED AGAIN. ONLY GOD KNOWS.

A SOVEREIGN TRUTH THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF CHRIST ARE YOUR TICKET AND PASSPORT TO THE 1 st RESURRECTION AND ETERNAL LIFE. “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCPET THROUGH ME.” JOHN 14:6

A SOVEREIGN TRUTH Many are getting life insurance to provide for their families when they die. But some of them are not getting insurance for their eternal lives. JESUS IS THE INSURANCE.

The Power of Resurrection Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.” (John 11:25)

Assurance of God’s Judgment His resurrection is assurance from God that Judgment is coming and we all must repent: "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead." - Acts 17:30-31

Resurrection is a SIGN God has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained: Christ He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead: Christ’s resurrection is a sign for humanity that there will be a judgment after death. The warning is: REPENT to not be judged.

LIFE OR WRATH “He who believes in the SON has eternal life; but he who does not obey the SON shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3”36)

Are you ready for that Day?

Response # 1: “ Let us drink and eat for tomorrow we die”

Paul’s Warning: 1 Co. 15:33-34 “ Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character.“ Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame. ”

Response # 2: “ Let us stand firm in the Lord. Let nothing move us.”

1 Co. 15:58 “ Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Hebrews 12:28-29 “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a consuming fire." [
