Remembering the Smith System  Key 1: Aim high in steering  15secs down the road!  Key 2: Get the big picture  Don’t forget your mirrors!  Key 3: Keep your eyes moving  Busy eyes. Looking at something different every 2 seconds helps you to stay alert!  Key 4: Leave yourself an out  All about keeping and creating space around your vehicle!  Key 5: Make sure they see you  Communicate your intentions to those around you!

Winter Driving Tips  Don’t follow too close  Watch for warning signs  THERE’S NO LOAD WORTH YOUR LIFE  Do a thorough pre-trip inspection.  Slow down and give yourself extra space  Beware of black ice.  Make sure you check the tread depth on your tires  Watch for slick patches while walking as well

Common Causes of Winter Accidents  Limited or reduced visibility  Aggressive braking on slick roads  Difficulty judging safe speed for conditions  Neglecting to plan for potential weather hazards

At Home Safety During The Holidays  Make sure your picking up heavy objects properly to avoid back problems.  Ladder Safety  Place your ladder on a stable, even, flat surface.  Secure tall ladders  Keep both feet on the ladder  Do not place a ladder on an icy surface
