What they do Petroleum engineers produce and design products made to be used in the petroleum industry. An example of the products is the system BP used to filter oil out of the water after the huge BP oil spill.

The Skimmer Machines like this “skimmer” were used to separate the oil from water and BP ordered 32 of these to pick up the water with each machine capable of extracting up to 2,000 barrels per day, After one week of testing, BP began to proceed and by 28 June, had removed 890,000 barrels

Reasons to be a P.E. The annual income is generally over 120 thousand dollars a year The work isn't too hard The prerequisites may be hard to meet but are worth it in the long run Petroleum engineering is already in our region so relocation wouldn’t be to bad

Conclusion After researching a lot and learning all the classes needed to take I’ve decided I still want to become a Petroleum Engineer.
