EDUCATION SYSTEM IN OUR COUNTRY KARIYER COLLEGE

In our country, education is carried out as private and public schools and both of two start for education at the age of 4 with kindergarten. Except for kindergarten, students have to wear a school uniform until university.

IN KINDERGARTEN Children learn the basic skills such as drawing, colouring, counting and so on… Also they learn rules of lives too. In addition, they get used to live regularly.

AFTER KINDERGARTEN Education divides into 3 groups. These groups are primary, secondary and high school. Since each group has 4 years, it is called system.

PRIMARY SCHOOL It starts after kindergarten at the age of 5. Besides a class teacher, there are some teachers like English, Drama, Physical Education, Music, Art, ICT and so on… The class teacher teaches basic lessons such as Turkish, Maths and Social studies. Students start learning Science in grade 4.

SECONDARY SCHOOL The second 4 years called secondary school. In primary schools there is a class teacher but in secondary school there are lots of different teachers for different lessons such as Maths, Turkish, History, Science and so on… In addition to English, German starts as a second foreign language. At the end of this part, students will have an exam called TEOG. According to this exam’s result, students start different high schools. While they are choosing these schools, they are taking into consideration their skills and knowledge.

HIGH – SCHOOLS The last part is high school. First of all, science lesson differs from secondary school. Cause, it divides into 3 parts as Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Also number of social activities lessons are decreased. Except for these, there are different types of high-schools such as medical vocational high schools, sports high schools, anaolian high schools, science high schools and so on… Students can choose the high schools according to their knowledge or abilities. At the end of the high school, students have a university entrance exam. They go on their education according to the result of this exam. Also, there are some academies which can be preferred by students without exams. These academies go on for 2 years.

UNIVERSITIES There are private and public universities like other schools. Public universities are free of charge but privates are different. Students have to pay to study in these universities. However, there are some scholarship conditions for successful students too. If a student gets a good result from the university entrance exam, he / she can get a scholarship from any private universities.
