 Why We Keep Preaching First Principles

There are lost people who need to hear those sermons  Preaching of Philip (Acts 8:4-5, 12)  Christ  The kingdom  A response that included baptism  Philip and the Eunuch (Acts 8:35)  Preached Jesus  A response to Jesus that included baptism

There are lost people who need to hear those sermons  Often lost people that are at our services:  People trying to serve God but don’t know how.  People who came with a friend visiting  People who don’t know they are lost.  People who have not yet been persuaded These people need the gospel!!! (Rom 1:16)

There are lost people who need to hear those sermons  Our Response:  Rejoice and delight for those who need to hear  Say a quick prayer  Humility  Faith that God’s power works

Those who are Children need such lessons  Rom. 10:14  Sometimes baptism isn’t talked about a lot at home.  Repetition is crucial  First principles don’t just deal with baptism:  One church concept  Worship of the church  Bible authority

Those who are Children need such lessons  Major difference today: “Do you have to be baptized or does faith alone save?”  “Are the scriptures the actual inspired words of God?”  “Can we add to the scriptures or take away from them?”  “do all roads lead to heaven?”  “do we need bible authority for everything?”  “how should the church be organized?”

Christians need these lessons because they forget  2 Peter 1:12-15; 3:1-2  A letter Peter writes before he dies  YOU NEED TO BE REMINDED!!!  We aren’t exempt  When we quit paying attention to these things our faith erodes.
