Strategic Communications Plan  Team adopted charter to meet Future Directions objectives  Workshop to identify key audiences  Message development exercise with Coordination group  Team developed plan and sought outside input

Strategic Communications Plan  Plan establishes framework for joint communications activities  FGDC/GOS/TNM coordinate activities and provide the lead  Seek active involvement and participation of FGDC member agencies and organizations

Strategic Communications Plan  Focus on benefits of collaboration to support decision-making, to leverage resources, to minimize redundancies and ways to share data and information  Encourage shared responsibilities among all of us to achieve our common goal of assuring access to reliable geospatial information

FGDC Federal Partners  The whole is greater than the sum of its parts: all levels of government must work together to communicate, cooperate, coordinate and collaborate to build the NSDI

FGDC Non Federal Partners  We all have a part to play in building the spatial data infrastructure  Here’s what you can do Get involved Share your data Form partnerships Spread the message

Tribal, Local and State Governments  Federal geospatial programs and resources provide valuable information to meet local needs  Combining your local data with national data aids decision making  Sharing information across boundaries helps improve service delivery and reduces costs

Non Geospatial Organizations  The ability to relate places with events is priceless  Everything happens somewhere  Geospatial data aids decision making  Visualizing demographic data helps you bring together multiple sources of information for a more complete picture
