River Rainfall Runoff G.W.T Main objectives of the project: Designing the irrigation system for a specific area. The first step is to determine the water source. The water source may be surface water (River, Lake, Rainfall, … etc.). It also may be groundwater.

Main objectives of the project (cont.):

After that it is required to design the conveyance system. Then design of the on farm irrigation system. Design of the hydraulic structures. Design of the pumping units.

Irrigation project 2013: The water source was the rainfall. Some hydrological calculations was made to calculate the runoff from the given rainfall data. Choosing the location of a dam used to collect the runoff. Some statistical analysis was made to determine the design discharge for the dam. After that the project groups were divided into two main groups.

Irrigation project 2013 (cont.): The first group was responsible for designing the dam. The other group was responsible for designing the on farm irrigation system.

Irrigation project 2013 (cont.):

Soft-wares used in preparing the project: Autocad. Watershed Modelling System (WMS). Google Earth. Global Mapper. Autocad Civil 3-D.
