Where our water usage places are in FFPS This is where our water usage is in our School. We went round our school and marked down where we use water. As you can see we have lots of water usage in different places. You are never further away than 24 seconds to get to a toilet. It’s a clean toilet as well. We have taps in every room except from the I.C.T sweat and the hall. Also we have 16 flush toilets all over our building and one urinal. This is where our water usage is in our School.

Toilets in FFPS. This shows that we have 19 toilets in total including 2 disabled toilets. We also have one urinal. We are no further than 24 seconds away from a toilet.

Toilets and urinals. This is one of our toilets and our only urinal. When we flush the toilets it uses up to 6 litres of water. There are 180 kids in KS2 so 9 kids to one toilet (1:9).

Hot and cold taps. This is where our hot and cold taps our in our school. As you can see, we have a even amount of hot and cold taps. So we have 34 hot taps and 34 cold taps. We have 8 hot and cold taps in the classrooms, 15 in toilets and 3 in staff areas.

Sinks. These are our taps. The cold taps are on the left of the sink and the hot taps are on the right of the sink.

The water forms into a river and reservoirs. Then people use the water to drink and get rid of there waste. Next the dirty water goes through pipes to get cleaned. Finally the pipes return it to the river. This is the water cycle and it shows how we reuse our water. This process means that we can get clean water from lots of places. Because we have infrastructure we can easily get clean water without getting ill.

Did you know?  Did you know, that running the tap for a minute can use 8 to 12 litres of water?  Did you know, that running a normal shower can use up 6 to 12 litres of water per minute?  Did you know, that running a modern dishwasher uses 15 litres of water?  Did you know, that having a bath can use 75 to 90 litres of water?
