Environmental Health and Safety Radiation Control and Radiological Services
Course focuses on Basic Radiation Safety Required for all individuals working with radioactive materials Environmental Health and Safety mission: Provide a safe and healthy environment for all Minimize injury to faculty, staff, students, and visitors Prevent damage to university property Overview
EH&S is divided into six departments: 1) Facility and Fire Safety Pest Control and Fire Equipment Service Units 2) Radiation Control and Radiological Services University-wide radiation protection 3) Occupational and Research Safety Monitors biological and chemical research activities, clinic safety, and accident prevention programs EH&S as a whole
EH&S 4) Diving Science and Safety Supports scientific diving for the University of Florida 5) Hazardous Materials Management Coordinates the disposal of radioactive/chemical waste at on- and off-campus locations 6) Industrial Hygiene Responsible for asbestos removal, indoor air quality and other industrial hygiene problems
