Day 1 - Light 1:1-5 Day 2 - Heavens 1:6-8 Day 3 - Earth, vegetation 1:9-13 Day 4 - Sun, Moon, Stars 1:14-19 Day 5 - Fish, Birds 1:20-23 Day 6 - Land animals, Man 1:24-31

Day 1 - Light Day 2 - Heavens Day 3 - Earth, vegetation Day 4 - Sun, Moon, Stars Day 5 - Fish, Birds Day 6 - Land animals, Man Were these 24 hour solar days? Or were they long periods of time ?

“Evening and Morning” Hebrew word “Day” - “Yom” Day age - “Yamin” Age - “Olam” If it was “dor” and “Yom” Hebrew word “Day” - “Yom” = 24 hrs. 1

A day can mean a long period of time. Only if the context permits!

In George Washington’s day men used flintlock rifles. On the first day of my vacation from morning to evening I painted my house.

“Age of Adam” Gen. 1:26 - Created on day 6 Lived through day 6 and day 7 Lived in Garden then expelled Had children Gen. 5:5 - Adam lived 930 years 2

The days of Genesis one could not have been long periods of time, millions of years, but were 24 hour solar days.

“Teaching of Jesus” Matt. 19:4 “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,’” They were made at the beginning not millions of years after the beginning. 3

“Sabbath day Rest” God rested on the 7 th day - Gen.2:2 Ex. 20:11 “For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.” 4
