Presentation transcript:

The Crustacean Society was founded in December, 1979, by scientists who recognized the need for an international organization and journal to enhance the study of all aspects of crustacean biology and to promote the exchange of information and ideas among persons interested in carcinology. The society encourages and rewards outstanding contributions to the field in three areas: Best Paper (published in the Journal of Crustacean Biology), Best Student Presentation (at scientific meetings), and Research Excellence (periodically awarded for a significant body of work). We also financially support symposia on crustacean issues. Membership Membership in the society is open to individuals or institutions interested in crustaceans. Upon payment of dues, members receive notices of the Society’s activities, voting privileges, and regular issues of the newsletter, The Ecdysiast. Members joining at the associate level or above also receive a subscription to the quarterly Journal of Crustacean Biology. Additional information is provided on the membership form on the TCS web site.
