IEEE Regions, Sections, and Societies Standards Education IEEE business IEEE conferences IEEE products and services Non-IEEE events of interest to members Career guidance Best practices such as how to successfully network or rejuvenate a section Awards Foundation grants and projects

5 The Institute 2003 Format Change
As a cost-savings measure, in June 2002 the IEEE BoD passed a motion put forth by the IEEE PSPB to “transform the monthly newspaper publication to a quarterly ‘magazine-like’ format with supporting online presence updated monthly/dynamically” First print issue was March 2003

6 The Institute Formats Print: Mailed four times a year with IEEE Spectrum in March, June, September, & December Online: Posted by the 6th of every month Alert: Sent twice a month around the 8th and 22nd

7 Print Format In-depth, feature length stories with photos, charts, and illustrations Newspaper format. 20 pages in March and June, 24 pages in September and December Glossy paper and full-color Entire issue archived online as a PDF file, with articles highlighted online

11 The Institute Online Email Alert
To inform readers that new articles are posted online, an alert is distributed twice a month to all members with an addresses on file ~293,000 addresses Highlights up to 8 stories Service is opt-out because The Institute is a member benefit Sign up at 3540 opt outs or a little more than one percent of current addresses on file Anybody can receive the alert, regardless of membership, sign up at institute home page.
