Presentation transcript:

Mountains Mountains are made by the movement of Earth’s tectonic plates.

Glaciers Glaciers are large masses of ice that flow very slowly down a mountain. Glaciers make U-shaped valleys, hills, and lakes

Valleys U-shaped valleys were made by glaciers thousands of years ago.

Rivers Flowing rivers wear down rock and cause erosion. Rivers can make canyons.

Canyons Canyons are V-shaped valleys that are made by rivers.

Lakes Lakes were formed by glaciers thousands of years ago.

Sand Dunes Sand dunes can slowly move with the wind.

Coast/Beach The Coast is a shoreline or oceanfront. Beaches are mostly located on the coast.

Volcanos Volcanos release lava that in turn makes Igneous rock when it cools down.

Cliffs Cliffs are formed by wave erosion.

Prairies, Grasslands, and Savannas

Plateaus and Mesas
