Verbo (verb) Indicates action or state of being. ALWAYS ends in -ar, -er or -ir Jugar, estar Correr, ser Escribir, existir HOWEVER, words ending in -ar/-er/-ir may not always be verbs: El pulgar, el azúcar, el carácter Verbs are used in many tenses (past, present, future, etc.) and are conjugated to six forms in each of the different tenses.

Adjetivo (adjective) Modifies or describes a noun or pronoun. In Spanish, it ALWAYS agrees with the noun or pronoun it modifies. Los jugadores son talentosos. La chica alta y morena es mi mejor amiga. In a mixed group, the adjective defaults to masculine plural. Julio, Lorenzo, Guillermo y Laura son argentinos.

Adverbio (adverb) Modifies or describes a verb, adjective or another adverb. Commonly ends in -ly in English. The equivalent of this is -mente in Spanish. Andrés juega bien el fútbol. Rosa está completamente lista. Yo corro muy rápidamente.
