Not in Education, Employment or Training – Year on year data Not in Education, Employment or Training - Percentage point difference over time

What is this telling me? Take me home NEET rates fell for males and females in 2010 and NEET rates were at their lowest in 2011 for males and females (4.7% of males aged 16 – 18 and 4.2% of females aged 16 – 18). Take me back to the data

Take me home What is this telling me? 16 – 18 year old males have experienced the biggest decrease in NEET rates of -1.7% since Females have experienced a decrease of -1.5%. From 2008 – 2011 the combined decrease amongst males and females is -1.6% Take me back to the data

What is this telling me? Take me home During 2008 – 2011 NEET rates were higher for Coventry’s 17 &18 year olds than for 16 year olds. The highest rate of NEETs during the period was experienced by 18 year olds in 2009 (9.0%). Whilst the rate of NEETs has continued to decrease since 2009, in 2011 the highest NEET rate was still amongst 18 year olds. 16 year olds in the city account for the fewest NEETs. At its highest, the rate of 16 year old NEETs was 2.9% (2008) and at its lowest was 1.8% (2010). Take me back to the data

What is this telling me? Take me home Across all age groups NEET rates have decreased between 2008 – The most significant decrease has been amongst 17 year olds who experienced a decrease of -2.3%, followed by 18 year olds (-1.9%). Overall, since 2008 NEET rates have fallen by -1.6%. Take me back to the data

What is this telling me? Take me home White 16 – 18 years olds experience higher rates of NEETs in Coventry, and were highest in 2008 at 6.2% of all 16 – 18 year olds. The rate of White NEETs has fallen over time. For Non White year olds the NEETs rate decreased between 2008 – 2010 (from 4.3% to 3.0%) but increased between 2010 – 2011 (from 3.0% – to 3.5% in 2011). Overall, from 2008 – 2011 NEET rates have fallen from 5.8% to 4.4% [rate expressed as % of those who declared their ethnicity] Take me back to the data

What is this telling me? Take me home NEET rates have fallen overall for year olds from both White and Non White ethnic backgrounds. This is particularly the case for White than Non White (-1.6% and -0.8% respectively). Overall, from 2008 – 2011 there has been a reduction in NEET rates of 1.4% (or 199 young people) in Coventry.
