4 ₪ The Foundation (FCRI) is a private non-profit institution which aims to contribute to the coordination of those involved in the Catalan research and innovation and to increase the social awareness of the impact of science on society. Presentation: ₪ Mission: To contribute to the articulation of the Catalan Research and Innovation System encouraging initiatives and proposals To promote and support research and innovation as well as disseminating results within the framework of constructing a European Area of Knowledge. January 07 Dissemination: Science Day (dissemination activity): It aims to attract secondary school students (3,754 this year) and encourage them to opt for research and careers in science by demystifying and making science more accessible. It aims to support future science careers as a basis to foster the university and research system in Catalonia, as well. Science Week in Catalonia: Initiative to bring science closer to society and make it accessible to everyone. It embraces a wide range of activities (460 events) throughout Catalonia including courses, conferences, exhibitions workshops and more.

January 07 Dissemination: Researchers Night: Its main objective is to offer the public, particularly youngsters, the opportunity to meet researchers in a relaxed atmosphere with activities out of their daily work routine. Catalan Council on Science Communication (Forum): Its main objective is the interchange of experiences and opinions among professionals from associations and agents acting in the field of science dissemination, as well as to look for strategies and initiatives to be implemented in science communication and research

January 07 Dissemination: Science Teachers Platform: Its main objective is to promote sharing of experiences and materials to make possible a better & wider Science dissemination and to generate new ones. In collaboration with: Education and Research Departments of the Catalan Government and varied teachers associations.

January 07 Dissemination: FCRI Award: This award, worth € 40,000, has been given annually since 1990 to researchers who have made an outstanding contribution to the progress of any scientific discipline at the international level. Scientific Literature Award: This award, worth € 6,500, is given to the best unpublished novel or informative essay written in Catalan language. The subject must be based totally or partially on situations, events or research projects, past or present, in any branch of science.

Development of UPDATE presentation material Inform relevant target groups, the media and the public about project activities

Collect and provide best practices and project results, new learning practices and new learning material for science and technology education (month 7-36). Organize and carry out UPDATE presentations at national and international conferences, meetings and visits (month 7-36)
