New Projects Mega Food Park - Palakkad Location : 73 acres of land at Elappully in in Palakkad District Project Cost: Crores. Assistance Sought : Crores. Area Covered: Districts of Palakkad, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur and Ernakulam with 5 Primary Processing Centres and 15 Collection Centres. Type of Industries: Products from spices, coconuts, rice etc.

Scheme 1 Setting up Food Processing Industry GRANT – 25 % of cost of P&M and TCW UPPER LIMIT Lakhs SCOPE - For setting up new unit; expansion or modernization of existing unit TO APPLY - 2 months before production APPLICANT – Govt/Pvt sector BANK TERM LOAN - at least 10% of project cost Scheme 2 Cold Chain Facilities for Non Horticulture Products GRANT – 35% of bank appraised project cost UPPER LIMIT Crores INTEREST SUBSIDY – 6% for 5 years directly to bank UPPER LIMIT Crores SCOPE – Must include at least 2 of the following components COMPONENTS – 1. Minimum Processing Centre at farm level; 2. Mobile cooling/reefer trucks; 3.Cold Storage ; 4. Irradiation Centre BANK TERM LOAN – 25% of project cost APPLICANT – Those interested in supply chain management NMFP Schemes under State Food Processing Mission Kerala State Nodal Agency - KINFRA

Scheme 3 HRD Infrastructure Facilities – Courses in FP GRANT – Up to Lakhs SCOPE – running Degree/ Diploma courses in FP For starting new ones/up- grading existing ones APPLICANT – Universities/ Institutions in Govt/Pvt sector COMPONENTS – Equipment for Pilot Plant, Lab and Library books/Journals Scheme 3 HRD Entrepreneurship Development Program GRANT – Up to 3.00 Lakhs/EDP SCOPE – 4 week training program, one year follow up program, with participants /program APPLICANT – Universities/ Institutions with competency in EDP, Reputed NGOs ( with min 2.00 Lakhs income other than grants ) COMPONENTS – Defined expenditure heads with limits Prescribed training module. NMFP Schemes under State Food Processing Mission Kerala State Nodal Agency - KINFRA

Scheme 3 HRD Food Processing Training Centre GRANT – Single Line 6.00 Lakhs for Fixed Capital Cost 3.00 lakhs as Seed Capital GRANT – Multi line Lakhs for Fixed Capital Cost 5.00 lakhs as Seed Capital SCOPE – For hands on training at least 50 trainees per year and in 2 batches/year. APPLICANTS – Educational institutes/Govt. bodies/NGOs COMPONENTS – Fixed capital for equipment and seed capital for consumables/other expenses in the initial run. Scheme 3 HRD Higher Training GRANT Lakh SCOPE – For higher training in reputed institutes like CFTRI/DFRL APPLICANT – Reputed state or national level institutes COMPONENTS – 20 trainees for 10 day training NMFP Schemes under State Food Processing Mission Kerala State Nodal Agency - KINFRA

Scheme 4 – PA Seminars/Workshops GRANT – 50% of the cost UPPER LIMIT Lakhs SCOPE – relevant and beneficial to FP sector APPLICANT – Govt /Pvt sector bodies /NGOs/ Cooperatives Scheme 4 – PA Exhibitions/Fairs GRANT – Based on merit of proposal SCOPE – relevant and beneficial to FP sector APPLICANT – Govt /Pvt sector bodies /NGOs/ Cooperatives COMPONENTS – Space rentals, stall construction, public- cation of literature etc. Scheme 4 – PA Studies/Surveys GRANT – 50% of the cost UPPER LIMIT Lakhs SCOPE – relevant and beneficial to FP sector APPLICANT – Govt /Pvt sector bodies /NGOs/ Cooperatives NMFP Schemes under State Food Processing Mission Kerala State Nodal Agency - KINFRA
