SBAC and Calculators

Calculator page on the Smarter Balanced website: http://sbac.portal.airast.org/practice-test/calculators/ Internet Explorer 11 doesn’t work. Please note there is NO CALCULATOR USAGE in elementary school.  Appropriate calculators will be provided online for student use.

SBAC Calculator Policy Grades 3–5 Calculator Availability   The Smarter Balanced summative mathematics assessments at grades 3–5 do not allow for calculator usage.

SBAC Calculator Policy Grades 6–8 Calculator Availability   The Smarter Balanced summative mathematics assessments at grades 6–8 are divided into two sections: Calculator Available Calculator Not Available Grade 6 embedded online four-function calculator during the Calculator Available section Grades 7 and 8 embedded online scientific calculator during the Calculator Available section

SBAC Calculator Policy High School Calculator Availability   At high school, the Smarter Balanced summative mathematics assessments are divided into two sections: Calculator Available Calculator Not Available High school embedded online calculator with scientific, regression, and graphing capabilities during the Calculator Available section
