Hello, How are you doing? Today, we are going to start a new lesson on Equivalent Fractions.

Equivalent Fractions Equivalent Fractions – Two or more different Fractions that name the same amount. Example – 1/3 = 2/6 = 3/9

Equivalent Fraction Model To find Equivalent Fraction of 1/2. Step 1: Start with the model of 1 Whole. 1/2 fraction is shown to represent half. Whole Fraction 1/2

Step 2: Use 1/4 fraction pieces to equal the length of the 1/2 piece. Cut the number of 1/4 fraction pieces. 1/2 1/4/41/4

Thus, equivalent fractions of 1/2 1/2 = 2/4 Other Equivalent fractions of 1/2 1/2 = 2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8

Important Tips  Equivalent fractions do not have same denominator.  Equivalent fractions do not have same numerator.  Equivalent fractions have the same value.
