SCN Cancer Champions Project Summary and Update

GMLSC SCN Cancer Champions Project The aim is to maximise the impact of the BCOC campaigns by establishing a virtual network of volunteers and staff from the local communities and across public sector providers, who can deliver the messages within their own communities and amongst their service users.

GM SCN Cancer Champion Event 8 th October 2014, the GM SCN commissioned Unique Improvements to coordinate a re- engagement event for cancer champions: – Re-engaging with cancer champions recruited by the previous cancer network – Engage with new cancer champions To celebrate the success of local projects and collaborate with the aim to develop a future plan

Future Plan The SCN have recruited 1.5 FTE Project Manager’s to work on the SCN cancer champion project to: Training for all cancer champions in AED Build the network Maintain the links and relationships with existing network GMLSC Cancer Champion Event Small Grants Scheme

Up to £1k is available to develop a project or initiative in your workplace or local area that will raise awareness of cancer (AED) Contact or for an application form or more
