Characterisation Characterisation is the investigation and portrayal of a specific character. Created by L McCarry

Characterisation Revision It can build on role-play by adding individual physical and vocal characteristics. Further development may include the exploration of emotions, attitudes and motivation. Characterisation Revision Questions National Four 1.Create a character card for a character you played in a recent stimulus drama. Include: Name, Age, Occupation, Family Details, Personality, Voice and Movement. 2.Explain how using Hot-seating helped you or would have helped you to develop this character. 3.Think of the most important relationship in the above drama between your character and one other character. Describe this relationship. 4.Write a character card, with the same details as question one for that OTHER CHARACTER. 5.Imagine that you are ‘Writing in role’ to the character you have mentioned above. Write ‘in role’ about your characters feelings for this OTHER character. 4.Think about how ALL OF THE OTHER characters in the recent stimulus drama may have felt about your character.
