Sanitation and HACCP Monitoring with the LIGHTNING MVP BioControl Systems, Inc.

MVP ATP Sampling Device Plunger Swab tip and Test Tube Base chamber

MVP pH & Temperature Probes MVP pH/Temp Probe ISFET (Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor) Technology Non-glass, ideal for in-plant usage Non-breakable 3 buffer calibration MVP Temperature Probe Stainless steel standard thermometer -20°C to 105° C Single point calibration

MVP Conductivity Probe Measures both conductivity and concentration

What is Conductivity? Conductivity is the measurement of the electrolytes in a solution. The conductivity Probe contains a sensor with two metal electrodes that are exactly 1.0 cm apart and protrude into the liquid sample. A constant voltage is applied across the electrodes. An electrical current flows through the sample due to this voltage and is proportional to the concentration of dissolved ions in the water - the more ions, the more conductive resulting in a higher electrical current.

What is Concentration? Concentration is the measure of how much of a given substance there is mixed with another substance. substance Conductivity is directly proportional to the chemical concentration in liquids. It is a more accurate measurement of chemical concentration then chemical strips or titration.

MVP Conductivity Probe Measures both conductivity and concentration 0-100,000 microSiemens (S) ,000 parts-per-million (ppm) Concentration parameter reads sanitizers and cleansers Measures temperature (0° C – 100° C) Specifications: 4-graphite electrode cell design, epoxy body Single calibration point Automatic temperature compensation

MVP Conductivity Probe Calibration Before use the MVP must be calibrated close (within +/ %) to the expected value of the sample for both conductivity and concentration/ppm. Conductivity: Take reading of sample. Purchase conductivity standard closest to that value and recalibrate. Concentration/ppm: Take reading of water blank (from source that will be used to dilute chemicals). Purchase conductivity standard closes to that value and recalibrate.

Establishing Test Points for MVP Conductivity/PPM Conductivity Establish test point names Concentration/ppm: Establish chemical standards (up to 99) These are standards against which each concentration/ppm reading will be compared I.e. Quats at 200 ppm; Quats at 400 ppm; Quats at 800 ppm, etc. Measure water blank and “ideal chemical standard” to calibrate Establish test point names
