We two have run about the hillsides And pulled the daisies fine, But we have wandered many a weary foot For old long ago. We two have paddled (waded) in the stream From noon until dinner time, But seas between us broad have roared Since old long ago. And there is a hand, my trusty friend, And give us a hand of yours, And we will take a goodwill draught (of ale) For old long ago! Global Understanding A piece of narration usually consists of a number of scenes. In each scene there are different characters who interact with each other. Now put down, in the following table, the characters and major events of the 7 scenes in Text A. ScenesCharactersEvents 1 (paras 1-2) Sue, Johnsy Sue's roommate, Johnsy was suffering a severe case of pneumonia. 2 (paras 1-2) 3 (paras 1-2) 4 (paras 1-2) 5 (paras 1-2) 6 (paras 1-2) 7 (paras 1-2) the doctor, Sue Johnsy, Sue Behrman, Sue Sue, Johnsy the doctor, Sue Sue, Johnsy The doctor told Sue that Johnsy needed a strong will to recover from pneumonia. Johnsy decided that she would die when the last leaf fell. Sue told Behrman about Johnsy’s fancy. As Johnsy was encouraged by the last leaf that wouldn’t give in to the weather, her will to live returned. The doctor told Sue that Johnsy would recover, but Behrman caught pneumonia himself, and his case was hopeless. Sue told Johnsy that Behrman painted the last ivy leaf on the night of the storm.
