What is the BAWLC? A “Smart Classroom” style laboratory environment: LCD Projector Multi-standards DVD player VHS player/recorder Sony Presentation stand Faculty work station 32 student work stations  30 PCs  2 MACs ADA Station Satellite Room Library-Style checkouts for language learning materials

BAWLC Policies Overview Sign in before each use. No food, drinks or gum allowed (leave at front desk). Turn off cell phones, take calls outside. Printing: Class assignment printing only. No printing from internet. 50 page per semester limit. Do not change or disturb current computer settings.

Sign In Procedures Sign-in required every time. Please fill out entire form. CSUN ID required. We cannot take your state ID. Look up call numbers in Catalogue located at front desk. Please note: Computers and materials on first come, first served basis. Scheduled classes take priority. Call ahead to check availability. Language resources available only to students taking the class.

Student Services Limited class assignment printing. Audio materials copying. Variety of basic programs and internet access: Netscape, IE Microsoft Office 2003 Suite (note: Microsoft Works files will not open unless saved as.txt or.rtf) Resources for language acquisition (in-house use only): Text books Computer programs Cassette and CD audio VHS and DVD video

Printing Procedures One print card assigned per semester, per student. Name and ID number written on card, stored in- house. 50 pages per semester. No internet printing. Class assignment printing only. Pick up printed pages from front desk.

Audio Copying Procedures Please supply and label own 90 minute cassettes or 80 minute CD-Rs Copying hours: Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Please plan ahead. Subject to copyright agreements with publishers.
