November 2006 Floods

Too Much Water (Nov. 7, 2006) The football fields at Snoqualmie Middle School were flooded by the Snoqualmie River. (Meryl Schenker/Seattle PI) Cows and a llama find refuge from the floodwaters of the Snoqualmie River on a small piece of high ground near Duvall on Tuesday. (Dan DeLong/Seattle PI) A house floats down the Cowlitz River south of Chehalis, as shown in this photo taken by City of Chehalis employee Michelle Matchett.

Nov 7, 2006 This house was flooded just a few yards from Highway 203 between Fall City and Carnation. (Seattle Times) The Snoqualmie River, seen in the lower half of photograph, floods over its banks at several locations. It's flowing into the Snoqualmie Valley near Carnation. (Seattle Times)

Nov 7, 2006 Flood waters from the Skykomish River had downtown Sultan residents and salmon sharing Main Street. (Seattle Times) As the rain begins to slow, the Snoqualmie River continues to rise spilling over onto farmland, around houses and shutting down roads. Water rushing over the banks of the Snoqualmie River crosses the Fall City- Snoqualmie Rd. (Seattle Times)
