What is the LBIS? Provides strategic guidance for land based investments and aligns the targets and outputs for eligible activities with government’s goals and objectives.

LBIS goals 1) Maximum productivity of forest resources. 2) Sustainable development of forest resources. 3) Coordinated, integrated and sustainable management, development and use of natural resources.

LBIS objectives and strategic priorities 1) Best return from investments and activities on the forest and range land base. 2) Encourage investments to benefit forest and range resources. 3) Manage impacts on forest and range resources from pests, disease, and wildfire. 4) Mitigate mid-term timber supply shortfalls. 5) Maximize timber growth in the provincial forests.

What has changed Prior to 2010 there were a multitude of funding envelopes – LBI, FFT, FIA, base funding etc. All land base activities are now planned and delivered from a common funding source

What has not changed Forests For Tomorrow continues - in addition to current reforestation of MPB and Wildfire impacted areas FFT has a role in Timber Supply Mitigation, Fertilization and Forest Health
