Presentation transcript:

 The Amazing Race is a reality television game show in which teams of people race around the world in competition with other teams, trying to finish the journey first to win the race.

 Eight stations (Journeys) for each team to complete in various locations throughout the District.  You will learn how to use a variety of applications as you complete tasks during each Journey.  An opportunity for brainstorming and collaboration to develop ideas for integrating technology in your classroom/daily activities.  Each team is a cohort group which will share technology with their campuses and mentor other teachers in technology infusion efforts in their classrooms in accordance with the District Mission, Vision, and Technology Plan.

1. Follow the clue (given to you by a race coordinator) to your first station. 2. Complete the challenge by following the directions found at each station or online in the Amazing Technology Race wiki. 3. After completing the challenge, a race coordinator will provide you with a “completed” stamp on your team’s passport. Be sure to save your materials to your team’s network folder. 4. Get your clue to the next challenge (envelopes are labeled by journey # and team #... be sure to get the right one!) 5. Repeat! 6. Complete as many challenges as you can in the allotted time.

 My Computer  \\lcm-netapp0210\projects\district\Amazing- Race-1Teacher  # - Team

A laminated journey instruction sheet will be placed at each journey station. Follow the journey instruction sheets carefully.

All team members must participate in each challenge. Each team member should be the “leader” of at least one task with input from all team members. Don’t let the team members who are most familiar with technology do everything. If you already know how to do a task, coach someone else on your team who doesn’t (tell them what to do… don’t do it for them!) The purpose is for everyone to get some hands- on experience!

 At the end of the allotted time, each team will fill out a “Reflections” page on the Amazing Technology Race Wiki.

Team 1: Vicki F. Donna H. Claire S. Team 2: Melodie B. Felicia H. Melissa U. Team 3: April K. Robin L. Suzanne M. Team 4: Natasha F. Roy Mazzagate Team 5: Joyce H. Tena E. Sandy R. Break up into your Teams for the next activity.

 Lunch – 11:45 (break) eat at 12:00 - 1:00  Login to Wikispaces; lcmatrace wiki  Accept invitations to join wiki  Explain the pdf’s on each Journey with detailed instructions  Show the Reflection page’s Edit & Save button  Give out username/passwords to United Streaming-fill out Form provided if needed  Pass out Journey 1 with sample Clue Cards  Pass out Team Passports  Return to Education Center for Wrap-Up and prizes at 2:45

While Kim passes out the Clue Envelopes, we will transform the Education Center tables into two separate stations…fast!
