2 More Different OD slots OD frame size is kept constant V6, V7 has one more slot than V4 Having more slot means less interaction material within limited space V9 is a extreme case of V6 and V7 V8 is similar to V4 More slots have no gain V8 is a simpler design to make orig v v v v v v Slot sizes

3 Theta dependence with 3GeV, 5GeV Old data used 2.2GeV Try with higher energy Leakage is a function of proton beam energy More leakage on higher energy Is it fair to use a=1.3 for higher energy?

4 Finding calibration const with infinite OD 2.2GeV5GeV Orig geom + 5cm x 19 layers Previous a=1.3 was found with 2.2GeV proton beam a=1.2 seems best with 5GeV Try to make total energy constant

5 Trying leakage correction Relative calibration const for OD=1.625 intead of 1.3 Theoretically wrong, but it seems to work Better way is using interaction length but it’s a function of energy

6 Detector Logical Region Scint only ECAL HCAL Nucl. target For HCAL study, lead can be ignored For theta=0deg, particle will hit DS-HCAL. For theta=40deg, it passes both DS-HCAL and OD
