2 2 Correction There was a mistake in the plot I showed last week. Corrected

3 3 Kinematic Cut ID+OD ID only As we see the result last week, resolution is strongly relying on ID performance  OD only calorimeter doesn’t have good resolution. Minimum ionizing particle-like event doesn’t utilize ID very much, so these events make resolution worse.

4 4 Theta dependence of cut 3GeV proton Depth of ID increases as theta decrease Primary vertex is kept (x,y) = (0,0)  This cut will be useful at 40 deg, when primary vertex is random

5 5 Angle dependence with kinematic cut New geom resolution decreased ~ 5% New geom, cut efficiency  40 deg – 93%  50 deg – 83%  60 deg – 76%  70 deg – 70%  80 deg – 68%

6 6 Beam energy dependence with kinematic cut New geom resolution ~ 1/sqrt(E) Cut efficiency(new geom, old wide)  1-2GeV – 99%, 99%  2-3GeV – 93%, 88%  3-4GeV – 78%, 74%  4-5GeV – 75%, 68% Higher beam have more MIP events (negative contribution on resolution)  Without cut, resolution doesn’t drop much as beam energy increases At 2-3GeV, old geom has higher resolution than new geom  Need to investigate

7 7 Phi dependence - effective theta correction Theta = 50deg Phi, modified theta  0, 50  10, 50.6358  20, 52.9088  30, 58.6629 Solve for theta numerically

8 8 Phi dependence - effective theta correction There seem to be no much phi dependence in average Shower cone spreads over OD
