We don’t know much about the African Grasslands but we do know that the Grasslands are made of grass. They are home to spectacular animals such as, Elephants, Tigers, Zebras, Lions, Gazelles, and Cheetahs just to name a few.

Rhino Lion Giraffe Leopard Water Buffalo Zebra Hyena

Some of the Animals endangered in Africa are, elephants, gorillas, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, zebras, rhinos, and bonobos (great apes). There are many organizations who are trying to protect these animals like that AWF (African Wildlife Foundation). Through organizations like this, many animal are being protected through their many programs. If these organizations do not step in these animal will more than likely not be around for future generations to enjoy. Not only are these organizations helping the animals directly but they are purchasing land in which these animals can live in without human interference ensuring that they will have a future.

When people hunt it is sometimes good and sometimes bad. The good thing by legally hunting and animal they wont get over populated. If they get overpopulated they could put other animals in danger, and effect the whole circle of life.

A young tiger trapped in Africa by a poacher’s trap. Unfortunately they had to amputate his right paw and after that he died from stress. He died on October 19, Poachers kill animals for money. They kill poor elephants only for there tusks because they are made of ivory and ivory is worth lots of money.

Lions are at the top of the food chain with the tiger, cheetah, and meat eaters. In the middle there are animals that eat plants, like giraffe, antelope, and zebras just to name a few Plants, trees, ground cover, fruit, decaying corpses, and excrement

Gazelles can camouflage in to the grass so they can hide. Africa’s mamba snake is the most deadly snake in the world. The zebras stripes help it from not being seen at night.wlo;sl kjlsakjf

The food chain is a part of the circle of life. Each animal has a spot in the circle of life. For example each animal no matter how big or small plays a role. Each animal eats another each animal dies or kills another. One animal is born and another one dies. Exert from the book “Circle of Life” A field scientist in Africa came across the carcass of an elephant that had just died and kept a diary of the ensuing events. First on the scene were the larger scavengers: jackals, vultures, and hyenas that possess a unique ability to crunch and digest bones. Then came the smaller carrion-eaters, including insects. The excrement from the scavengers and the detritus from their endless feeding fertilized the soil beneath and around the carcass. This caused vegetation to grow and draw a veil over the final residue; instead of the body being lowered into the ground, the ground rose over the body. It took only two weeks for the carcass to disappear through this natural burial - and this was an elephant, largest of animals. With all other creatures, it would require far less time. Sitting at the top of the food chain the Lion is one of few animals in Africa that can sleep regardless of what's going on.
