 For many people, literacy means the ability to read and write  Literacy however means “the possession of acquired knowledge”  Technology therefore can be an important concept that individuals can achieve literacy in stockxpertcom_id _size1.jpg

 Smart boards have now begun to replace chalkboards  Lectures can be done with PowerPoint's and accessed online  Mathematical charts and equations can be shown with Microsoft Excel t03.jpg

 Students can write essays using Microsoft Word  Students can make visual and auditory presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint  Students can make brochures and other types of media with Microsoft Publisher  Students will be able to improve type speed and accuracy  Students can show visuals of mathematical equations using Microsoft Excel

 Students can assess and use accounts  Students will be able to do research and find data for homework assignments using search engines like Google  Students can be provided with real-time help, instruction, and tutoring online  Students can take courses online  Students can express their ways of communications by using Blogs, social networks, etc

 Visual literacy is the ability to comprehend information through visual concepts  Understanding graphs, charts, and webs are all examples of visual literacy  Technology can help improve and explain visual literacy y/materials/visual_literacy/visual_img.gif

 Students are now exposed to many forms of visual literacy, such as PowerPoint's, Elmos, Smart Boards, and other visual elements  These visuals help enhance children’s ability to comprehend academic material 10_007i.jpg
