Presentation transcript:

 Engineers are concerned with designing economical and safe solutions to everyday problems. They seek quicker, better, and less expensive ways to complete projects. The main goal of an engineer is to meet the practical needs of society.

 University of Colorado  A. James Clark  Norwich University  Polytechnic University  Eastern Kentucky University  University of South Carolina  Drexel University

STARTING SALARIES  The highest average starting salary would be $83,000, which you would typically earn as a petroleum engineer.  The lowest average starting salary would be $52,000, which you would typically earn as a civil engineer

 The many different fields of engineering provide a wide range of jobs and positions to be acquired. CNN rated Systems Engineer to be the top ranked job in the country.

 Also known as ASEE, this organization is committed to furthering education in all fields of engineering and engineering technology. This society promotes local, national, and international collaboration on all matters of learning.

 This group was made to give teenagers hands on experience and real world learning towards the subject of Engineering. In This course you learn to:  Solve problems  Participate as part of a team  Lead teams  Speak to a public audience  Conduct research  Understand real-world impacts  Analyze data  Learn outside the classroom

 This is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting engineering and technology careers to our nation’s young people. It was established in 1950, as one of the first associations to solely promote jobs in these fields to young people

 In this specific field of engineering, experts apply principles and theories of nuclear science to problems concerned with release, control, and utilization of nuclear energy and nuclear waste disposal.

 Design and develop nuclear equipment such as reactor cores, radiation shielding, and associated instrumentation  Examine accidents to obtain data that can be used to design preventive measures  Monitor nuclear facility operations to identify any design, construction, or operation practices that violate safety regulations and laws or that could jeopardize the safety of operations  Write operational instructions to be used in nuclear plant operation and nuclear fuel and waste handling and disposal.  Perform experiments that will provide information about acceptable methods of nuclear material usage, nuclear fuel reclamation, and waste disposal.

 Obama and his Administration strongly endorse the furthering of math, science, and technology studies in high schools around the United States. He says that one of the keys to overcoming the challenges of the recession is to reaffirm and strengthen America's role as the world's engine of scientific discovery and technological innovation
