Input – Balanced Diet Keywords: Energy – Measured in kilocalories and kilojoules and consumed in diet Energy Balance – Relationship between energy intake (taken in) and energy expenditure (used up) Energy Intake – The energy that we put into our body from food and drink Energy Expenditure – BMR + Energy required to participate in physical activity BMR – Basal Metabolic Rate – the amount of energy we need at rest Q – What kinds of things will affect your energy expenditure?
