What is navigation? Navigation is the cognitive process of acquiring knowledge about a space, strategies for moving through space, and changing one’s metaknowledge about a space (Leventhal, 97). Travel : how a user moves through space or time Wayfinding : how a user knows where they are and where they are going. .

Wayfinding Aids Wayfinding: Person’s ability, both cognitive and behavioural, to reach spatial destinations (Passini, 1998).
