Before I Fall has 626 pages.

The summary for Before I Fall is that there is a sixteen year old girl and she and her clique of four other girls are going to high school. A party come up and one of the most popular guys is having it at his house while his parents are out of town. So the girls decide to go being part of the small town of druggies and alcoholics. Before the party when the clique is getting ready they decide to chug a bottle of vodka to get “warmed up.” Once they get to the party the girls split to hang with their boyfriends. A three story house is packed with high schoolers with a cup of some alcohol mixture in one hand and a joint in the other. They hang at the party from about 10 o’clock to around 3am. When they leave its pouring rain out and they all are out of their minds..not a sober soul in the car, no sober teen to drive. They drive home anyway. Once they arrive the highway, about 2 miles away from the house, it happens. One of the girls is leaning into the front seat from the back messing with the stereo and accidentally drops her cigarette in the drivers lap. Burning her and filling the cab with smoke the driver is distracted and doesn’t watch the road. A suicidal teen, Juliet Skikes, is drunk and runs out onto the highway. Zoey, the main character, is the driver. She looks up just before hitting her and tries to swerve. She hit Juliet and killed her. She rolled her truck killing one of her friends, putting herself in a coma and the other two girls left with only bruises and scratches. When in the coma she dreams that she wakes up (on the same day) thinking it was only a dream and “relives” the day but it happens again. Then she “wakes up” thinking it was just a dream. She has this dream while being in the coma over and over and over again not know she is in a coma or that she is just dreaming it all past the real/first night. When she re-dreams it she thinks she is getting the opportunity to change things..but she's not. She has this awful dream for months and then it finally stops. Then the book is done hooking you to read another.

 My opinion of this book is that it is the book ever. I hate, hate, hate reading but I LOVED this book. Even though it is a really big and long book it is a fast read because once you get into it you cant stop reading. It usually takes me a month to finish a two hundred page book just because I dread reading but this six hundred page plus book I finished in 6 days. Once you start reading you cant stop. Even though it isn't very appropriate it is a GREAT book. It has a great lesson and message behind it.

My favorite part of the book it when the car crash happens the first time for real and then when she is in a coma and she “wakes up” thinking it all was a dream and she has the “chance” to, what she thinks, relive it.


