6. Opinion I think that Children of the sea is a great story. I really enjoyed reading this book because is a love story. Both of the main characters are trying to keep the love burning inside of them and they hope to see each other in the future. What happened in the story could happen in real life. The idea of not having someone to love you, or having your love apart from you really hurt. The message that the author is trying to send is base on her life in Haiti and how her country was falling apart, and maybe she even left someone she loved.
