“Sylvia is shocked and confused when she is asked to be one of the first black students to attend Central High School, which is scheduled to be integrated in the fall of 1957, whether people like it or not. Before Sylvia makes her final decision, smoldering racial tension in the town ignites into flame.”

“Kenny Watson tells the story of his family, the weird Watsons. Kenny's description of brother Byron's antics leaves little doubt that this 13-year-old is on his way to being an "official delinquent." He is the cause of the family's decision to visit Birmingham to leave him with their Grandmother. In Birmingham they are soon caught in an event which causes Civil Rights Movement to emerge.”

“When Katie and her family move from a Japanese community in Iowa to the Deep South of 1950’s Georgia, it's Lynn who explains to her why people stop on the street to stare. And it's Lynn who, with her special way of viewing the world, teaches Katie to look beyond tomorrow.”

“Eleven-year-old Elijah lives in Buxton, Canada, a settlement of runaway slaves near the American border. He's the first child in town to be born free, and he ought to be famous just for that. Unfortunately, all that most people see is a "fra-gile" boy who's scared of snakes and talks too much. But everything changes when a former slave steals money from Elijah's friend, who has been saving to buy his family out of captivity in the South. Now it's up to Elijah to track down the thief--and his dangerous journey just might make a hero out of him, if only he can find the courage to get back home.”

“It's the climax to a year's worth of Spider-Man stories as questions are answered, and Spidey's new world is rocked to its core! Who's been terrorizing people as Menace? Who's behind the Spider-Tracer Killings? Who's going to be the mayor of New York City? All the answers are here! Plus: The world's greatest super hero teams up with the 44th president of the United States in "Spider-Man Meets the President."
