“Declaration of DE-pendence” 2 Corinthians 1:10-11 Psalms 62:5-8

I. He is the rock upon which our salvation depends. Our salvation is built on a solid foundation. –That foundation is Jesus Christ –There is no other foundation 1 Corinthians 3:11, “No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

I. He is the rock upon which our salvation depends. Our salvation cannot be shaken. Psalms 62:7, “My salvation and my honor depend on God.” –His foundation is firm. 2 Timothy 2:19 –We build upon that foundation. Matthew 7:24-27

II. He is our fortress in which we have refuge Our hope comes from God alone. –We set our hope on Him for continued deliverance –We should look to Him for all we need.

II. He is our fortress in which we have refuge He is the One who gives protection. –He delivers us from deadly peril. –He exudes strength in light of anything we face. Psalms 18:2, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

III. He is our deliverer in whom we trust. We need to pour out our hearts to Him. –He waits for us to tell Him our need. Psalms 5:3 Philippians 4:6 –He loves to respond to our requests. 1 John 5:14-15

His deliverance is a result of the prayers of His people. –We help others by praying for them. –As a result of prayers, many give thanks. 2 Corinthians 1:11, “…Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”
