Menes The First Pharaoh

Egypt

was home to the one of the most oldest

and richest cultures in world history

The Ancient Egyptian Civilization

The Egyptian Civilization began around 5000 BC

when villages grow up along the Nile river.

By around 3100 BC, this villages formed

two separate Kingdoms: Lower and Upper Egypt

The two kings fought a battle

which was won by King Menes of Upper Egypt

Since this day, as symbol of power

he wore the Double Crown

Menes unified the kingdoms becoming the first

Egyptian Pharaoh

Menes built his capital in Memphis

near the actual city of Cairo

He ruled Egypt for more that 60 years.

After his death 150 pharaohs of more than 30 Dynasties

continued to rule the Egyptian Civilization
