4 WHO DID WHAT? Thutmose III Amenhotep Tutankhamen Ramses II Under him – Egypt controlled more territory than ever and the Empire grew rich from trade and tribute. Changed his name to Akhenaton and introduced a new religion. Became pharaoh at the age of 10. He died at a very young age and his tomb was discovered with great treasures in it. Reigned for 66 years and was the most effective; great builder; greatest pharaoh of the New Kingdom
