 Definition: ◦ Hunger- Agonizing sense of discomfort triggered by the idea of needing food  48.8 million United States citizens deal with the problem of malnutrition  1/3 of our nation is suffering  Childhood malnutrition has a rate of 16.2 million  Minnesota is the ninth highest state for this issue  45% of children five years and under will die of lack of food  Children die do to diseases they encounter from lack of food  Malaria  Pneumonia  Measles

 Action Against Hunger  Organization that holds a world wide food donation service that puts its may focus on malnutrition in developed and undeveloped countries.  Food for the Hungry International  Organization that works with under developed regions to make sure that malnutrition is lessened increasing children persistence.  Hunger Plus, Inc.  Charitable organization that works to decrease malnutrition around the world by food programs etc.
